Have We Lost Our Integrity

A wise man told once told me: A man is judged by his integrity.  If a man has no integrity than he can’t be trusted.  If a man honors his integrity, respect his choices.  To this day that man is someone which who I look up to.  His integrity was never questions, never challenged, never broken.

It is rare to find someone who fully believes in moral values anymore and it is an even rarer thing to find someone who will stand up for what they believe in.  Someone who will not fold at the back lashing from society for a comment they have said or the action they have committed.

Us, as a nation have become so thin skinned, when it comes to feelings, that we want an apology for everything, even if it didn’t concern us personally.  I live by this phrase: Don’t say it, if you don’t mean it.  It’s plan, it’s simple, and it’s direct.  If you think it is going to hurt, offend, or cause a scene then maybe it’s better if you keep it to yourself; but if you decide to say it then don’t back peddle and try and get out of the situation.

Conflict is how legends are born.

Controversy equals power.

Now is your time to persuade people.

It doesn’t matter if one person hates what you said or the entire world hates it, what matters is you stood your ground and your integrity was kept.  Lets face it, everything we have in this world could go away in a flash but our integrity stays with us until we die.  To me, something that stays with me for as long as that deserves not to be broken.

So, think about it.  Have you ever broken your integrity?  Have you ever recanted a comment or action just to please the masses?  If you have, then reevaluate your morals and see what you believe in.  I promise you nothing is more important than your integrity.
